Role overview
Global Retail Brands Australia is seeking an experienced Brand & Packaging Designer at mid to senior level to own packaging design for a diverse product portfolio. The role covers the full process from early concept development through to production-ready artwork.
You’ll be responsible for creating packaging that feels thoughtful, cohesive, and aligned to the brand, while partnering with design, product, and marketing teams to help launch products effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Develop packaging for a range of product lines, including dielines, mock-ups, and final artwork.
- Convert brand strategy and visual direction into packaging systems that can scale across products.
- Work with product and marketing stakeholders to support new launches and campaign activity.
- Keep packaging standards up to date and protect consistency across all pack formats.
- Monitor packaging developments, material choices, and retail innovation trends.
What we’re looking for
- 5–8+ years of design experience, preferably with a packaging, FMCG, or product-focused background.
- Strong understanding of print production and packaging workflows.
- Well-developed skills in typography, layout, and brand-led design.
- Confident in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Proven ability to carry projects from concept stage through to production.
- High attention to detail and the ability to juggle several projects at once.
Nice-to-have experience
- Background in retail, homewares, lifestyle, or fashion.
- Awareness of sustainable packaging approaches.
- Basic 3D or mock-up capability, with CAD or Figma considered an advantage.
