Job description

Role overview

We are looking for a Brand Manager to take full ownership of the commercial relationship with premium international consumer electronics brands represented in India. This is a broad end-to-end role covering strategy, forecasting, go-to-market planning, SOPs, ecommerce, retail activation, marketing, launches, and post-sales coordination. You will serve as the main point of contact and the link between the brand headquarters and India-based teams.

Core responsibilities

Strategy, planning, and brand support

  • Take charge of the annual brand P&L, GTM calendar, seasonal plans, content updates, business reviews, brand coordination, and pricing decisions.
  • Shape India-specific target audiences, shopper journeys, and premium brand positioning.
  • Support brand growth and act as the central coordinator for strategic brand matters.

Commercial, channel, and stakeholder management

  • Handle distributor partnerships, B2B relationships, and major retail or omnichannel accounts along with the sales team.
  • Expand distribution across modern trade, specialty outlets, and online retail channels while onboarding and managing key accounts.
  • Own trade promotion workflows, credit note handling, incentive coordination, and reconciliations in partnership with finance.
  • Work across Sales, Ecommerce, Marketing, L&D, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Service as the key internal coordinator.
  • Manage external partners such as creative, media, PR, merchandising, and influencer agencies, including vendor performance oversight.

Mystery shopping and retail quality

  • Design and run mystery shopping exercises across retail locations.
  • Evaluate customer experience, staff behavior, and brand guideline adherence.
  • Spot service and retail execution gaps and recommend corrective action.
  • Share findings with the relevant teams to improve execution and protect premium standards.

Ecommerce and performance marketing

  • Partner with the ecommerce team to lead marketplace planning, including assortment, A+ content, DSP and advertising, and promotional participation.

Product launches and merchandising

  • Lead launch planning and execution, including timelines, inventory, retailer readiness, collateral, PR, and launch events.
  • Implement in-store merchandising standards, visual merchandising, and retail staff training through sales and merchandising teams, backed by audits.
  • Maintain demo inventory for the required use cases.
  • Coordinate launch activity with headquarters and channel partners.

Operations and after-sales

  • Work with operations and supply chain teams on logistics and forecasting to avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Make random customer calls to identify issues and recommend corrective measures.
  • Coordinate RMA matters with the service team.
  • Maintain technical specifications and the related statutory and regulatory documentation.

Reporting and analytics

  • Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts, SKU-level sell-through reports, inventory days analysis, channel margin updates, and campaign ROI tracking.
  • Build board-level presentations for headquarters and internal leadership, and handle brand reporting and escalations.

Success measures

  • Year-over-year revenue growth for the brand(s).
  • Better gross margin and channel margin performance.
  • Improved sell-through and inventory turns.
  • Higher marketing ROI, including ROAS and campaign conversion lift.
  • Timely product launches and channel readiness.
  • Fewer after-sales escalations and stronger CSAT.
  • Better mystery shopping results and stronger retail compliance.

Required background and skills

We are looking for someone with 10 to 12+ years of experience in brand management or commercial roles in consumer electronics, premium lifestyle, sports tech, or FMCG/retail. The role calls for strong commercial ownership, including forecasting, pricing, P&L management, and advanced use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva. Hands-on experience in product launches, trade promotions, and retail activations is important, along with the ability to coordinate work across multiple teams. You should be comfortable presenting ideas clearly, managing stakeholders, and using sales analytics, GA, and basic CRM tools. Domestic travel is part of the role for recce visits, rollouts, and events.

Preferred profile

  • MBA or another relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Experience with post-sales or warranty reconciliation, including RMA, is a plus.
  • Exposure to premium global brands is useful, and experience in sports or health wearables is especially welcome.

Personal attributes

  • A collaborative leader who takes strong ownership and can delegate effectively.
  • Clear, convincing, and professional communicator, both spoken and written.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving boutique importer or distributor setting.
  • Highly organized, practical, and focused on results.

Reporting and location

This position reports to the Head of Business or Director, with a dotted line to the Head of Marketing. The role is based in New Delhi and follows an office-first setup, with frequent domestic travel. It is an individual contributor role that works closely with agencies and coordinates teams across the country.
