About the role
Starbucks is looking for a Brand Communications Manager to help create momentum around customer experiences, product moments, partnerships, and digital innovation. This position is focused on building external communications that generate attention, strengthen reputation, and help customers connect with the brand in meaningful ways. The ideal candidate combines storytelling ability, media strategy, and strong awareness of culture and consumer behavior.
What you will do
- Plan and execute integrated external communications initiatives that spotlight the customer experience through strong storytelling, media outreach, and proactive reputation management.
- Create messaging, media-ready content, and both proactive and responsive communication approaches that increase awareness and engagement.
- Work closely with marketing, product, and internal communications partners to deliver aligned and high-impact go-to-market communication plans.
- Secure and shape meaningful earned media coverage in a fast-moving environment while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and following Starbucks guiding principles.
What we are looking for
- At least 7 years of experience in consumer or brand external communications, ideally with a global consumer brand or a PR agency.
- A strong foundation in public relations and external communications, with the ability to balance storytelling, strategy, and media relations.
- At least 7 years of proven experience in media relations and writing.
- At least 7 years of experience developing creative consumer brand campaigns through earned media and influencer-led approaches.
- Comfort working in highly collaborative settings where ideas are developed across multiple teams.
- An adaptable, curious, and proactive mindset suited to a fast-paced, customer-centered environment.
Benefits and compensation details
Starbucks offers a broad benefits package for eligible partners and their families. Coverage may include medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other optional insurance benefits. Additional support can include short-term and long-term disability, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursement, vacation from the date of hire, sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 25 hours worked, eight paid holidays, and two personal days each year.

Vacation accrual varies by state and level. For roles below director, employees in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND, or RI can accrue up to 120 hours, or 190 hours in California. For director-level and above roles, the cap is 200 hours, or 316 hours in California. In other states, vacation begins at 120 hours per year for roles below director and 200 hours per year for director-level and above positions.
The final base pay will depend on factors such as relevant skills, experience, location, and internal equity. Starbucks notes that candidates are not typically hired at the top end of the pay range.
Work environment
This is an onsite role, with four days a week expected in the office.
