Role overview
This position is responsible for running branch operations and expanding business within the branch catchment area. The role focuses on improving client service, strengthening the local business footprint, and ensuring the branch operates effectively while meeting revenue goals.
The product mix spans broking services and investment solutions such as mutual funds, life insurance, and health insurance.
Key responsibilities
- Build and nurture a high-performing, sales-oriented team, while regularly upgrading their knowledge and capability so they can meet their targets.
- Review competitor teams, track talent movement, and use that insight to strengthen the branch team.
- Keep employees engaged, motivated, and productive to reduce attrition at the branch.
- Ensure product and behavioral training is delivered consistently to the team.
- Maintain strong risk controls by ensuring KYC compliance, proper client profiling, and complete documentation.
- Follow all regulatory requirements and internal policies issued by head office.
- Plan and execute local-area initiatives and referral programs to deepen customer engagement and business reach.
- Share research-backed advisory inputs with clients based on recommendations from the internal research team.
- Work toward higher customer retention, improved revenue, and stronger referral generation.
- Continuously monitor local market penetration and competitor offerings, and report emerging trends across product lines.
- Ensure proper rollout and use of lead management and information systems at the branch in coordination with head office.
- Keep client data current, including financial and contact details, and use periodic analytics to support business decisions.
- Resolve customer questions and complaints quickly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Oversee daily branch functioning and make sure operations run smoothly.
- Lead and motivate dealers, relationship managers, and customer service executives toward branch targets.
- Protect branch assets and maintain security standards.
- Ensure risk, compliance, and statutory requirements are followed.
- Drive cross-selling of the company’s products and ensure multi-product targets are achieved.
- Stay updated through training on alternate products and make sure the branch team is also aware of them.
- Use cross-sell and product-mix initiatives to increase business and reactivate inactive customers.
- Move existing and new clients to mobile, web, and executive platforms to improve dealer productivity.
- Improve dealer output by servicing large traders and developing temporary funding opportunities through HNI and large-trader relationships.
- Drive branch sales and team performance in line with annual business targets.
- Focus on profitability, revenue growth, yield management, and cost control.
- Acquire new large-trader clients directly and grow the digital client base.
- Deliver branch gross revenue through both offline and online channels.
- Design and execute local initiatives that sustain business momentum.
- Use new business ideas and local planning to improve acquisition and branch profitability.
- Track individual and team performance, and act promptly to close gaps and improve productivity.
Requirements
- Experience in branch sales, branch operations, or retail financial services leadership.
- Ability to manage teams across sales, service, and operations functions.
- Working knowledge of KYC, compliance, regulatory adherence, and branch risk controls.
- Experience with customer engagement, retention, and local business development.
- Comfort with client data management, reporting, and basic data analysis.
- Familiarity with broking and investment products such as mutual funds and insurance.
- Capability to coordinate with head office and implement branch systems and processes.
