Job description
Role Overview
This is a short-term remote contract for a STEM Biology expert who will work on task-based assignments. The engagement runs for 3 months and pays $250 per task. The role requires a minimum commitment of 4 hours per day, up to 40 hours per week, with at least 4 hours of overlap with PST.
Responsibilities
- Create and solve advanced Biology questions designed to test the boundaries of large language models.
- Write solution steps that are accurate, thorough, and easy to follow.
- Work with LLM researchers to make sure the problems match evaluation objectives, especially in topic areas where models commonly perform poorly.
- Help build new evaluation benchmarks using Biology topics from early undergraduate level through PhD-level content.
- Tackle complex biological problems using a careful, systematic, and logical method.
- Break down Biology ideas in plain language, and use visuals or simulations when helpful.
- Review AI evaluation outputs by adding useful feedback and detailed annotations.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline, or current enrollment in a PhD or postdoctoral program.
- Strong ability to research, analyze, and reason through difficult problems.
- Experience giving clear feedback and detailed annotations.
- Ability to think creatively and approach problems from unusual angles.
- Strong written communication and teamwork skills in a remote environment.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently.
- Access to a desktop or laptop plus a dependable internet connection.
