Job description
Summary
The Benefits/Payroll Assistant will support the Benefits/Payroll Coordinator in managing the daily operations of employee benefits administration and payroll processing. This position serves as a key point of contact between various departments, employees, and external vendors, ensuring that all processes are timely, accurate, and adhere to regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and audit daily reports for payroll and benefits programs.
- Maintain records for various benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-term and Long-term Disability, Group Term Life, HSA, COBRA, and LOA.
- Administer the Healthy Baby program.
- Manage the Wellness program.
- Provide assistance during the Benefits Open Enrollment period.
- Process biweekly and monthly payroll, including reporting, reconciliation, and auditing.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Offer support to employees regarding benefits and payroll inquiries.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Prior experience in benefits or payroll is preferred.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Effective time management skills.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Involves data entry tasks.
- May require some stooping and bending.
- Ability to lift less than 35 lbs.
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment.
