About the Role

This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. The role sits within Minor Hotels, a global hospitality group with more than 530 properties across 50+ countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America. Role Summary

The Beach Guru is responsible for keeping all beach and recreational spaces running smoothly, on time, and to the expected standard. The job focuses on cleanliness, guest support, equipment handling, amenities service, and assisting with recreation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Work according to the Recreation Department’s operating SOPs and task lists.
• Keep the recreation area and back-office spaces organized, clean, and well maintained.
• Complete daily cleaning duties, along with weekly and monthly tasks assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Manager.
• Clean, store, and secure equipment properly when it is not in use.
• Transport towels to and from the laundry while keeping enough stock available for operations.
• Support other duties as assigned by management, including work in other hotel areas and overnight cleaning when needed.
• Deliver consistently high customer service and maintain professional conduct on and off duty.
• Follow all company and department policies and procedures.
• Prepare workstations with the required supplies and keep them clean throughout the shift.
• Respond to guest needs promptly, politely, and with a calm manner.
• Understand recreation activities, events, and related services thoroughly.
• Provide amenities to club and hotel guests as required by the SOPs or supervisor instructions.
• Ensure guest amenities remain available at all times.
• Carry out all tasks listed in the daily task sheet and checklist.
• Maintain full knowledge of the recreation facilities and activities.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly at all times.
• Take part in work-related project teams when required.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
• Know the hotel’s products and services, especially sports, leisure activities, and equipment.
• Follow correct accounting procedures when collecting or charging recreation fees.
• Be ready to take on additional recreation duties as requested by management.
• Help support department revenue generation.

• Flexibility to take on additional duties, including lateral service and overnight cleaning if required.
