Role overview
This full-time onsite position in Doha, Qatar is part of the banquet and food & beverage service team. The role centers on delivering polished guest experiences, supporting outlet operations, and upholding hotel standards, policies, and service excellence.
Key accountabilities
- Ensure company and hotel policies, operating procedures, and code of conduct requirements are clearly understood and followed across daily work.
- Support the hotel’s human resources, learning, and development initiatives where required.
- Protect guest, colleague, and hotel information by handling confidential and personal data responsibly.
- Use hotel systems, internet, and equipment only for appropriate business purposes and follow all technology-use rules.
- Follow Safe, Sound, and Sustainable practices, along with the hotel’s social media standards and zero-tolerance approach to harassment and discrimination.
- Represent the hotel professionally at all times and take on additional operational duties as assigned by management.
Banquet and beverage duties
- Understand the outlet concept, food and beverage range, and confidently explain menu items and offerings to guests.
- Prepare and present cocktails, mocktails, spirits, beers, wines, and garnishes to the required standard, including maintaining the Standard Drink Appearance file when needed.
- Recommend drinks to guests and assist the outlet manager in training colleagues when required.
- Handle guest complaints, whether spoken or written, and escalate issues to managers promptly.
- Set up the bar area each day, including mise en place, ingredients, equipment, and bottle placement to support smooth service.
- Check stock levels before every shift, support monthly stock counts, monitor fridge temperatures, follow FIFO rotation, and ensure correct date labeling.
- Clean, sanitize, and deep-clean bar and storage areas, including fridges, as scheduled or required.
- Process orders through the point-of-sale system and, when asked, handle cashiering as well as cash and credit collections.
- Support food and beverage service, table clearing, and workstation cleanliness to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Assist other outlets or team members whenever operationally required.
Guest and team collaboration
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and management to avoid service gaps and misunderstandings.
- Work cooperatively as part of a team and support others in day-to-day operational tasks.
- Observe guest cues, anticipate needs, and aim to create memorable moments through friendly, attentive service.
- Share guest preferences with supervisors and act on them whenever possible.
Additional support duties
- Keep communication open between guests, management, and service staff to resolve operational issues.
- Attend required meetings and follow established safety and security procedures.
- Use common office software such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook Express when needed.
- Carry out general cleaning tasks, maintain a neat and organized work area, and complete other assigned duties.
- Step into supervised roles as needed and demonstrate positive leadership that motivates the team.
