Job description

Role Overview

SHAFT Automotive Engineering is looking for an experienced master mechanic to join its service team in Dammam. The position focuses on advanced vehicle diagnostics, mechanical and electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, and ensuring that workshop operations meet quality and safety expectations.

Key Duties

  • Partner with the engineering manager and fellow technicians to identify faults and carry out repairs on vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as engine tune-ups, oil replacement, and filter changes.
  • Handle the segregation and disposal of waste fluids, consumables, and used spare parts in an orderly way.
  • Inspect vehicles to confirm operating condition, diagnose engine issues, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and replace worn or damaged components.
  • Share vehicle condition findings and completed repair details with the service advisor.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, including Autel and similar brands, to trace faults, perform resets, complete calibration, and support programming work.
  • Use and maintain A/C service equipment to diagnose and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems.
  • Operate workshop lifting equipment such as scissor lifts and two-post lifts safely and correctly.
  • Confirm vehicle roadworthiness through test drives and by adjusting controls and related systems as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules, service-center procedures, and applicable vehicle service standards.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and aligned with good housekeeping practices.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and appearance during maintenance and pre-delivery work.
  • Document service work and repair history accurately in vehicle records.
  • Ensure workshop tools and equipment remain functional by following operating instructions, carrying out basic upkeep, monitoring supplies, and arranging repairs when required.
  • Assess service recommendations and available parts alternatives to support repair decisions.
  • Complete additional maintenance and organization-related tasks as assigned to support workshop operations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school education or a technical diploma.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience servicing European vehicles, with preference for BMW or Porsche.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools; Autel experience is preferred.
  • Strong self-drive and accountability.
  • Good problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proactive approach to work.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
