Role Summary
This part-time position is for a detail-focused and approachable Audiobook Production Assistant who will help manage audiobook projects from start to finish. The role involves coordinating production tasks, preparing files for delivery on key platforms, and communicating directly with authors whose books are being turned into audio. You will act as a link between authors, narrators, and distributors, helping each project move forward smoothly and meet the company’s quality standards.
Key Duties
- Assist the Audiobook Manager with timelines, milestones, and production deliverables.
- Prepare, upload, and organize audio assets for distribution through ACX, Voices by InAudio, and Spotify.
- Keep authors and narrators informed about project progress and next steps.
- Work with the publishing and distribution teams so audiobook releases align cleanly with print and ebook launches.
- Record and maintain project details accurately in HubSpot while ensuring timely communication with authors.
Required Experience and Strengths
The ideal candidate has prior exposure to audiobook production or has worked with platforms such as ACX, Voices by InAudio, or Spotify for Authors. Strong relationship-building ability is important, along with clear and confident communication when guiding authors through the audiobook process. The role also calls for excellent organization, careful attention to detail, and familiarity with HubSpot or another CRM used for project tracking. Comfort with file handling, metadata, and audio file formats is expected, and audio editing knowledge would be an added advantage. A genuine interest in publishing, storytelling, and helping independent authors succeed is also important.
Work Arrangement and Compensation
This is a fully remote role with flexible part-time hours. Compensation is set at $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. The position begins immediately and is classified as 1099, with no in-office requirement.
