Role overview
This position sits within portfolio development and focuses on analyzing portfolio businesses, identifying opportunities to improve performance, and supporting strategic and transaction-related work. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, management groups, and Board Directors to strengthen value creation across the portfolio.
What you will do
- Perform detailed assessments of portfolio companies across strategy, market positioning, operational effectiveness, financial results, and industry attractiveness.
- Help identify, evaluate, and monitor initiatives that create value, including strategic repositioning, business transformation, efficiency gains, cost optimization, capital structure improvements, and restructuring efforts.
- Build and maintain advanced valuation and financial models such as SOTP, DCF, DDM, trading comparables, precedent transactions, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.
- Track portfolio performance by reviewing financial resilience, key value drivers, competitive positioning, and relevant industry trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Work with stakeholders, management teams, and Board Directors to support strategic discussions, provide analytical input, and follow through on key execution items.
- Support portfolio management and transaction work, including due diligence, valuation work, and capital structure analysis.
- Prepare strong research outputs, presentations, and internal memoranda to aid decision-making.
- Contribute to portfolio-wide value creation by identifying synergies across businesses and supporting both organic and inorganic growth initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Approximately 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in top-tier management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, M&A, accounting, or a similar field.
- Strong capabilities in analysis and financial modelling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort interacting with senior leaders and conveying ideas clearly.
- Ability to juggle several priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- A proactive mindset with a strong sense of accountability and the ability to work independently.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work well across functions and stakeholder groups.
- Familiarity with financial data tools such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and FactSet.
- Practical AI fluency, including use of tools like ChatGPT and Copilot to improve research, synthesis, analysis, and productivity.
