Job description
Role overview
This is a premium early-career opportunity for an outstanding graduate to join onshore banking operations in the UAE at Associate level. The position sits within the wealth management function and offers direct exposure to private banking with high-net-worth clients across the Emirates.
The role is structured to provide broad, hands-on experience across the complete private banking journey, including client acquisition, investment support, operational coordination, and compliance with UAE regulatory requirements. It is intended to develop future leaders in UAE private banking through a fast-paced, cross-functional learning environment.
Business development and client acquisition
- Work alongside senior relationship managers to identify and onboard high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across the UAE.
- Help prepare pitch materials, financial proposals, and customised presentations for prospective clients, covering both local and international investment requirements.
- Join client discussions and contribute to initiatives designed to increase assets under management and liabilities under the advisory framework.
Relationship management
- Support the management of a portfolio of UAE-based clients and help maintain a high standard of service and responsiveness.
- Develop durable client relationships by understanding financial objectives, family dynamics, and risk appetite, while being mindful of cultural and generational nuances in the region.
- Coordinate with internal specialists across credit, treasury, and investments to deliver integrated banking solutions, including Sharia-compliant offerings where relevant.
Investment management support
- Assist in building and tracking discretionary and advisory portfolios with exposure to GCC equities, fixed income, real estate, and global markets.
- Carry out market research and performance analysis, and stay updated on regional economic movements and wider financial developments.
- Contribute to investment committee packs and client reporting materials.
KYC, AML, and compliance
- Follow Central Bank of the UAE regulations closely, including anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism standards.
- Prepare and check onboarding documents to make sure KYC records are complete, accurate, and aligned with UAE banking secrecy and data protection requirements.
- Support ongoing account monitoring for unusual activity and any related regulatory reporting obligations.
Operational and credit support
- Gain practical exposure to Lombard lending and other credit facilities used in private banking, including how leverage is structured against investment portfolios.
- Assist with monitoring collateral, margin levels, and portfolio valuations in line with credit risk policies.
- Work with operations teams on settlements, corporate actions, and account maintenance to help ensure a smooth client experience.
Qualification and profile
This opportunity is intended for a fresh graduate holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognised university. Preferred academic backgrounds include Finance, Economics, Business Administration, and Accounting.
Candidates with strong academic performance and an interest in pursuing CISI, CFA, or CFP credentials will be considered positively. Applicants should also demonstrate a genuine interest in client development, revenue generation, and relationship building.
Experience and skills
A basic understanding of the UAE regulatory environment, including CBUAE, AML, and KYC requirements, is important. The role also calls for the ability to analyse financial data, create investment proposals, and present ideas clearly and confidently.
English fluency is essential, and Arabic language skills are a strong advantage for client-facing work. Candidates must uphold high ethical standards and maintain strict confidentiality in a banking environment. Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is required, while familiarity with Bloomberg or financial modelling tools is beneficial.
