Job description

About the Company

Gridlines is a fast-scaling financial modelling consultancy that helps organisations make high-stakes financial decisions with greater speed and confidence. The firm works with ambitious clients involved in initiatives that aim to create meaningful impact, and it is expanding quickly as it looks to bring in strong talent for its next phase of growth.

Role Overview

This position is suited to an experienced model audit specialist who is enthusiastic about financial modelling and motivated by professional growth. You will partner with a team of modelling experts to examine and validate intricate financial models, making sure they are dependable, accurate, and commercially sound.

Operations

  • Take ownership of several teams across a range of live assignments.
  • Direct model audit work so that models are mathematically accurate and commercially aligned.
  • Offer senior-level direction and practical insight to keep delivery on track.
  • Assess commercial documents and ensure the financial model reflects them precisely.
  • Help evolve the company’s modelling methods and tools, supporting ongoing improvement and innovation.
  • Plan projects, timelines, and staffing needs to support efficient delivery.

People

  • Guide and coordinate a team of model audit professionals.
  • Coach, encourage, and supervise junior colleagues during assignments.
  • Work closely with teammates and contribute to shared project outcomes.
  • Explain model conclusions and recommendations clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Break down complex model issues into language that non-technical audiences can follow.

Growth

  • Contribute to the firm’s growth plans within a priority sector.
  • Support the creation and refinement of client pitch materials.
  • Run client discussions and help strengthen long-term client relationships.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Applicants should reflect the company’s values of Drive, Innovation, Collaboration, and Excellence. The role calls for 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in a financial environment, ideally within a respected advisory practice or a large corporate organisation. Strong knowledge of accounting principles is important, and an accounting qualification would be an advantage. Candidates should bring deep expertise in Project Finance, strong analytical ability, and hands-on experience building and using financial models in Excel. A degree in a numerate subject is required, and a postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance would be helpful. Experience with the FAST financial modelling standard is preferred.

Benefits

The role offers a competitive base salary and flexible working arrangements that may combine office-based work, working from home, and client-site engagements. It also provides strong opportunities for career development as the company continues to expand, access to advanced financial modelling tools and resources, and a collaborative, encouraging team environment.
