Job description

Role overview

The Associate Director of Admissions is a hands-on leadership position that blends direct recruiting with team management. In this player-coach role, you will help meet enrollment targets, guide Admissions Representatives, and keep daily operations focused on results. Your work will directly support the university’s mission of preparing future healthcare professionals.

Performance in this position is evaluated through personal enrollment output, team achievement, and consistent delivery against defined KPIs. The role carries direct responsibility for results at both the individual and team levels.

Core duties

You will actively work prospective students through the full admissions journey, from initial inquiry to final enrollment, while also leading and developing the admissions team. The position also requires regular oversight of compliance, reporting, planning, and student service.

  • Recruit, connect with, and enroll prospective students while maintaining your own enrollment contribution.
  • Spot performance shortfalls and apply focused coaching to improve results for individuals and the team.
  • Demonstrate ethical, consultative admissions practices at a high standard.
  • Manage the complete prospect lifecycle from inquiry through enrollment.
  • Supervise day-to-day team performance and provide ongoing coaching to Admissions Representatives.
  • Create a high-accountability culture by setting expectations, tracking KPIs, and reinforcing enrollment goals.
  • Support team development so members consistently meet or exceed activity and enrollment targets.
  • Ensure the team stays current on academic programs, admissions processes, and enrollment methods.
  • Track enrollment activity accurately and in a timely manner across academic programs.
  • Monitor required outreach, follow-up schedules, and CRM documentation standards.
  • Support compliance with institutional, accrediting, state, and federal requirements.
  • Contribute data-based input to forecasting, staffing plans, and advertising strategy.
  • Attend departmental meetings, graduation ceremonies, and university events when needed.
  • Deliver excellent service to students, colleagues, and other university stakeholders.
  • Take on other assigned duties as required.

Success profile

People who tend to do well in this role are comfortable balancing their own production with the performance of a team. The ideal candidate is data-driven, accountable, persuasive, and able to coach others while still producing strong individual results.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in admissions or enrollment management within higher education is required.
  • Experience leading teams while also carrying direct student enrollment responsibilities is needed.
  • Working knowledge of institutional, accrediting, state, and federal regulations in higher education is required.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, including the ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and other technology platforms used in admissions and enrollment management is required.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $85,000 to $95,000. Pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal equity, and demonstrated performance in enrollment and leadership.

Conditions of employment

  • You must be able to perform the essential duties and work in the office in person unless otherwise indicated.
  • Employment verification will be completed to confirm work history in line with accreditation standards.
  • Employment offers depend on successful completion of a background check.
  • Official academic transcripts must be provided before hire. Degrees earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States and keep that authorization without sponsorship.
