Job description
Role Overview
This position is for an Assistant Straightener Operator (Preparation) based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role supports steel rolling mill operations with a strong focus on machine preparation, straightening support, and product quality control.
Experience and Background
Candidates should bring at least 2 years of experience, and preferably up to 5 years, in an assistant straightener operator role or a closely related position within a steel rolling mill. An ITI or Diploma qualification is considered suitable for this job.
Core Duties
- Help set up and run the straightening machine as part of steel production activities.
- Prepare rollers, guides, tools, and other straightening equipment before operations begin.
- Work alongside the Straightener Operator to help meet output and quality expectations.
- Check the straightness of products and flag any irregularities or defects for review.
- Carry out regular cleaning, lubrication, and basic upkeep of the machine and related equipment.
Technical Requirements
- Solid understanding of straightening procedures and equipment readiness.
- Awareness of product quality standards used in steel production.
- Ability to assist in daily machine operation and support production flow effectively.
