About the role

Forever New is looking for an experienced and motivating Assistant Store Manager for its Tea Tree Plaza location in Adelaide, South Australia. This position is a strong next move for a fashion-oriented leader who enjoys driving sales, guiding a team, and working in a vibrant retail environment.

What you’ll do

You will report to the Store Manager and play a key part in supporting the day-to-day running of the store. The role offers a fast-paced setting where no two days are alike, with opportunities to build your leadership capability and progress through the company’s career pathways.

  • Support and strengthen the store team through hands-on leadership and 1:1 coaching
  • Help build a positive team culture and maintain strong working relationships
  • Engage with a diverse customer base and deliver a high standard of service
  • Work directly with product and merchandise, including handling garments on the shop floor
  • Assist in achieving store sales performance, wage control, and target outcomes
  • Contribute to roster planning and store scheduling
  • Support performance management activities when needed
  • Use visual merchandising knowledge to help present the store effectively

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in retail store management
  • A track record of meeting sales, wage, and performance targets
  • Confidence in coaching, leading, and motivating people
  • Exposure to performance management processes
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first approach
  • Ability to manage rosters efficiently
  • Experience with visual merchandising
  • Willingness to work late nights, weekends, and public holidays when required
  • Good understanding of fashion and current trends
