Overview

Middlesex University Dubai is seeking an Assistant in Quality Assurance to support student feedback, reporting, and wider quality processes across the university. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating stakeholders, and helping produce reports and submissions that support continuous improvement and academic quality assurance.

Student Feedback

  • Use suitable digital tools to gather, organise, assess, and present student feedback data.
  • Work closely with student representatives and university staff to ensure feedback processes run smoothly.
  • Record formal minutes for meetings, share them with relevant parties, and follow up on action items.
  • Prepare scheduled and ad hoc updates on student feedback activities and outcomes.
  • Support the Institutional Planning and Quality Office with the day-to-day administration of student feedback systems, including Programme Voice Groups, Programme Progress Review, Module Feedback Surveys, Middlesex Student Survey, and Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey.

Reporting and Quality Support

  • Compile accurate information for both internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with periodic KHDA and MoHESR submissions for new programmes and renewals of existing academic offerings.
  • Help carry out market evaluation work and gather input from industry partners and other stakeholders where required.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for university committees such as MDX Academic Board, Faculty Quality Committee, and Quality Committee.
  • Monitor trends, analyse non-financial performance data, and contribute to Educational Monitoring and Enhancement reports at departmental and campus levels.
  • Support strategic and operational planning by preparing progress updates and related reports.

General Duties

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with faculty, students, central services, and Student Offices in Dubai and London.
  • Help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Take part in project groups and quality improvement teams as needed.
  • Continue building professional capability through staff development activities and contribute to training or mentoring new team members.
  • Carry out additional job-related tasks assigned by university management that are appropriate to the role.

Qualifications and Experience

The role calls for a relevant undergraduate degree and practical experience in a university setting. The ideal candidate should stay composed when dealing with staff, students, and external contacts, and should communicate in a confident, positive manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Recognised undergraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Strong written communication and presentation ability for formal documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and statistical tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, and SPSS.
  • Ability to administer surveys and apply suitable research methods.
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong administrative capability with close attention to detail, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven project management skills in a deadline-focused environment, including multitasking and prioritisation.
  • Advantageous: familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO or EFQM, or related training.
  • Advantageous: prior experience in quality assurance within a university or college environment.
