Job description

Role overview

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a motivated and well-organised Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join its established NHS Talking Therapies service in Gloucester. The post is suited to someone with a strong interest in mental health and an ambition to progress toward a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner career. The team places strong emphasis on training, development, and delivering high-quality low-intensity CBT support to people across Gloucestershire.

What the role involves

  • Support Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners in delivering face-to-face and online psycho-educational courses for patients throughout the county.
  • Carry out administrative and clinical support duties, including preparing referrals, producing clinical notes, and gathering patient data and feedback.
  • Help extend the reach of the service by engaging with internal teams across the Trust and external partners such as GPs, local groups, and other community stakeholders.

Working arrangements

This is a part-time post with flexible working patterns available within a 37.5-hour working week. Core service hours run from 8:00am to 8:00pm, and some evening work will be required. A hybrid working pattern is available after completion of local induction and subject to line manager approval, although the successful candidate must work from the Gloucester base for at least part of the week. Interviews will be held in person at the Gloucester base.

Training and development

The Trust offers regular continuing professional development, reflective practice through clinical supervision, and fully funded access to the Bespoke training service. The role is intended to support development into a future qualified PWP career, with progression opportunities available within the service.

Important notes

Applicants are asked to write their personal statement in their own words and avoid using artificial intelligence tools, except where needed for spelling and grammar checks. If the Trust receives a large number of applications, the vacancy may close earlier than expected.
