Job description
Company Overview
Slate Brands is a contemporary beauty brand incubator and accelerator that focuses on building brands in categories with strong growth potential. The company spots unmet demand, forms strategic partnerships, and develops distinctive brands designed to scale. With an omnichannel strategy, Slate Brands supports growth across digital, retail, and newer channels. Its portfolio spans talent-led, white-label, and in-house brands, giving team members exposure to a wide mix of business models and product concepts. The culture is lean, collaborative, and centered on innovation and long-term brand development.
Role Summary
This is a full-time remote position for an Assistant Project Manager focused on fragrance. The role is responsible for coordinating fragrance launches and ongoing product programs from start to finish, helping ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards stay on target. The position works closely with product development, marketing, operations, finance, vendors, and external partners to keep projects moving smoothly.
What You’ll Do
You will support project schedules, monitor milestones, maintain calendars, and keep documentation accurate and current. The role also includes following up on samples, component shipments, and approvals, supporting inspection and quality checks, and coordinating logistics and expediting tasks. You’ll identify risks, delays, and resource gaps early, communicate them to stakeholders, prepare status updates, and contribute to better workflow processes across fragrance projects.
Additional Information
This role is remote-friendly and open to candidates internationally. It reports directly to the founder and CEO. The position is centered on fragrance and offers the chance to work across retail, direct-to-consumer, talent partnerships, product development, creative, operations, and retail execution.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings strong project coordination and project management ability, especially around scheduling, stakeholder communication, and risk tracking. Experience with expediting work such as order follow-up, delivery monitoring, and delay resolution is valuable. A working understanding of inspection and quality control is important, along with careful attention to samples, components, and finished goods. Experience handling logistics, shipment planning, documentation, and supplier or freight coordination is also useful. The role requires someone who can work well remotely, juggle multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and use collaboration tools such as Excel/Sheets, project tracking systems, and shared workspaces. Background in beauty, fragrance, consumer packaged goods, or a related sector is preferred, and a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, project management, or a related area — or equivalent hands-on experience — is expected.
Candidate Fit
The strongest fit is someone who is deeply interested in fragrance trends, retail, culture, and category growth. The role suits a person with 1–3 years of experience in project management, brand coordination, or operations who can turn creative direction into clear timelines and deliverables. You should be comfortable managing several projects at once, working proactively in a fast-moving environment, and staying highly organized and detail-oriented. Familiarity with fragrance retail, product development, or beauty and wellness is a plus, and experience with tools like Notion or Asana is an added advantage.
