Job description

Role overview

Amerex Group LLC is seeking an Assistant Production Coordinator to help drive apparel production from development handoff through final shipment. This is an early-career opportunity to build hands-on experience in production operations while partnering closely with Production Coordinators and the Senior Production Manager to keep quality standards, timing, and delivery commitments on track across multiple product categories.

Production and timeline support

  • Track each phase of production from pre-production through final delivery, including WIP, in-transit, and completed orders.
  • Help maintain T&A calendars so key deadlines and milestones stay on schedule.
  • Monitor delivery timelines and raise alerts when a shipment may be at risk.
  • Prepare and circulate production status updates and WIP reports.

Order placement assistance

  • Support the preparation and distribution of order detail sheets to the Dhaka and Shanghai offices in Excel format, including quantity, size ratio or pre-pack, pricing, and packing/packaging instructions.
  • Keep vendor packaging guides from retailers updated and organized.
  • Track open orders and follow up on missing confirmations.

Packaging and ticketing support

  • Assist with ordering price tickets from customer-designated suppliers.
  • Review care labels, hangtags, carton markings, polybag stickers, and packaging layouts.
  • Coordinate with design teams and hangtag/label vendors on new setups and change requests from licensors.

Sample and approval tracking

  • Monitor sample progress across assigned styles, including proto, fit, PP, TOP, and ad samples.
  • Maintain approval records and reports for fabrics, trims, lab dips, strike-offs, and packaging.
  • Follow up with vendors and factories to help keep sample submissions and approvals moving on time.

Vendor and factory communication

  • Communicate daily with overseas factories and vendors about production status.
  • Make sure factories are working from the latest tech packs and specifications.
  • Support issue follow-up under the guidance of the Production Coordinator or Senior Production Manager.

Data entry and reporting

  • Maintain Excel-based WIP reports, production trackers, and approval logs.
  • Update internal systems such as Blue Cherry, Datametrics, and other Excel trackers with current production information.
  • Prepare reports and summaries as requested by the production team.

Cross-functional and administrative support

  • Coordinate with Design, Technical Design, Merchandising, and Sales teams to keep workflows aligned.
  • Assist with PO accuracy checks, size scale reviews, labeling checks, and customer requirement documentation.
  • Provide general administrative help to the production team as needed.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and a background in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is considered a plus. The role is suited to candidates with 0 to 2 years of experience; prior internship exposure in apparel production, sourcing, or merchandising is strongly preferred. A working understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and apparel production processes is helpful. Strong Excel skills are important, and familiarity with PLM or ERP systems is an added advantage. Candidates should be able to communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-moving environment.

Core competencies

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Self-driven, proactive approach to work

  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Collaborative, team-focused mindset
