Job description
About the Role
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for an Assistant Producer to join its Sports Europe team in London. In this role, you will support the Producer across every phase of programme and series creation, with a particular focus on premium sports content for the UK market. You will help shape ideas for content that airs across WBD Sports channels and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Help develop programme concepts and content that can be used across WBD Sports channels and digital platforms.
- Write, edit, and shape scripts, teases, features, and other elements for live and recorded productions.
- Lead off-site multi-camera shoots, including productions involving high-profile contributors.
- Contribute story ideas that can be turned into programme segments, from early concept through to delivery.
- Oversee edit sessions and audio recording sessions.
- Work closely with production team members to make sure content is delivered on time.
- Coordinate with suppliers and third parties to ensure assigned tasks and project deliverables are completed.
- Take part in discussions about new ideas, improvements, and workflow changes that can improve efficiency.
Experience and Skills Required
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of broadcast operations and live production methods, including studio shows, remote productions, and outside broadcasts. You should be capable of producing and directing ENG camera shoots and understand non-linear editing well enough to create fast-turnaround edits for assigned programmes. The role also calls for someone who can contribute creative ideas, works in an organised and detail-focused way, and manages time effectively to meet deadlines. Being able to self-shoot is an advantage, though it is not essential.
Working Arrangement
This position follows a hybrid model, combining remote and on-site work in line with company policy and as agreed with your line manager. WBD also notes that, where required for business needs and with reasonable notice, the working arrangement may be changed subject to applicable laws.
Equal Opportunity and Accessibility
Warner Bros. Discovery is committed to building an inclusive workforce that reflects a broad range of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. Hiring decisions are based on merit and are made without regard to protected characteristics such as sex, gender identity, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marital status, pregnancy, parenthood, disability, or any other category protected by law. Candidates with disabilities who need adjustments or accommodations during the application or recruitment process can request support through the company’s accessibility process.
Culture and Values
The company emphasises its guiding principles as the foundation of how it works, and these values are considered an important part of the interview process.
