Role overview
The Assistant Manager is responsible for keeping store operations running smoothly and stepping in to oversee the location when the General Manager is unavailable. The role includes hands-on support with pizza preparation, onboarding and training new team members, store opening and closing duties, guiding staff activities, communicating clearly with the team, and helping maintain strong customer service, product standards, safety, and security.
Essential skills and job demands
This position calls for someone who can understand instructions accurately and respond to them appropriately. The role involves speaking with customers and coworkers both in person and by phone to handle orders, along with using basic math accurately and quickly for transactions and order processing. The candidate must be able to make correct change, use verbal and written communication effectively, and process orders through a computer keyboard or touch screen. Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to carry out precise movements quickly are also important.
Experience note
Experience in a fast-casual restaurant or hand-tossed pizza preparation is considered an advantage, though training will be provided for the right person.
