Role overview
This position is focused on techno-commercial procurement and contract support for civil and infrastructure-related work. The role involves handling purchase requisitions, coordinating procurement actions, supporting vendor selection, preparing commercial documents, and ensuring smooth contract execution in line with company procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Review approved purchase requisitions from user departments and request any missing details needed to ensure the requisition is accurate and complete.
- Support the selection of the right procurement approach based on the item or service type, urgency, stock position, existing rate contracts, value, and delivery timelines.
- Identify and shortlist vendors.
- Draft request-for-proposal documents and issue enquiries or RFPs.
- Assess submitted quotations and compare offers.
- Check whether pricing and rates are fair and reasonable.
- Examine procurement and tender documents to confirm they are complete.
- Prepare and circulate updates on contract and procurement status, compliance, and changes.
- Prepare contract documents and internal approval notes.
- Place purchase orders, work orders, and agreements after all required approvals are in place according to company rules.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to follow up on tender submissions and deliveries.
- Support communication with vendors after award on contract-related matters.
- Issue contract amendments and closure documents.
- Create SAP orders and coordinate related activities.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with suppliers and vendors in the assigned category to drive business value and commercial benefits.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and execute techno-commercial initiatives.
- Carry out market research and analysis to find opportunities for growth.
- Manage pricing and negotiate contracts to protect profitability.
- Identify risks in techno-commercial projects and help reduce them.
- Prepare presentations for stakeholders on techno-commercial performance.
- Keep track of industry developments and technology trends to support better business decisions.
- Ensure all work follows regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Assist in building annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Experience and qualification
The role requires a BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering and 3 to 7 years of experience in infrastructure or real estate. Relevant procurement exposure should include civil structure, earthwork, reinforcement, steel structure, interiors, and façade works.
