Role overview

The Singapore Land Authority is hiring an Assistant Manager for its Business Planning & Development function. This position focuses on shaping how State land and properties are repositioned, leased, and activated, with an emphasis on adaptive reuse, tenant planning, and collaboration with external partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and carry out plans to repurpose State land and properties in the period before they move into longer-term development stages.
  • Improve the appeal of portfolio properties by working with market participants to identify and test new uses.
  • Coordinate with public agencies and business partners on possible collaborations for strategic sites and projects.
  • Support the division and appointed agents in designing and rolling out leasing approaches and tenant-mix plans for the assigned portfolio.
  • Help create and execute retail concepts, and identify and approach prospective tenants.
  • Assist with sourcing and leasing spaces, including conducting site viewings for available units.
  • Track existing and upcoming vacancies to help maintain strong occupancy across the developments.
  • Partner with relevant internal teams and managing agents to address tenant requirements and increase visitor traffic to the developments.

Candidate profile

  • A degree or background in Real Estate, Urban Studies, Business, Marketing, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • At least 2 to 5 years of experience in retail and commercial leasing within a large mixed-use project or shopping mall.
  • Strong awareness of the retail sector and current market trends.
  • Well-developed interpersonal abilities and clear communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset, a collaborative working style, and the ability to find practical solutions.
  • Comfortable handling multiple priorities, attentive to detail, and able to deliver within deadlines.
  • Experience in retail mall or integrated development advertising and promotions would be an advantage.

Additional information

This role is based in Singapore and is a full-time onsite position.
