Job description

Role overview

This position supports the end-to-end handling of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations so that financial commitments are settled accurately, on time, and in line with company procedures and tax requirements. It is also responsible for protecting vendor relationships, supporting VAT compliance, and preserving the accuracy of financial records through effective use of Microsoft Dynamics and coordination with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Enter and validate supplier invoices in Microsoft Dynamics, confirming the details are correct and mapped to the appropriate general ledger account.
  • Prepare payment runs for internal review and release, ensuring disbursements are processed accurately and within agreed payment timelines.
  • Examine invoices to confirm full compliance with VAT rules, including checking whether input VAT can be reclaimed.
  • Create accrual journal entries for open liabilities during month-end close, partnering with business teams to make sure the figures are complete and correct.
  • Assist with reconciliations between the core banking platform and Microsoft Dynamics, tracking down variances and supporting their resolution.
  • Compile monthly reconciliations for corporate credit card spend, making sure transactions are properly coded, supported by documentation, and aligned with company policy.
  • Maintain repayment plans for recurring and scheduled obligations.
  • Ensure accounts payable activities adhere to internal controls, company policies, and audit expectations.
  • Contribute ideas and support process enhancements that improve speed, accuracy, and control within the AP function.
  • Oversee capex and fixed asset processing, including asset classification, updates to the fixed asset register for additions and disposals, and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Keep sundry account balances accurate, including prepaid items, advances, and deposits, and ensure they are reviewed and cleared promptly.

Education and qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline is required. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CA is considered a strong advantage.

Experience

The role calls for 5 to 8 years of post-degree experience in banking or finance, with hands-on exposure to financial accounting and reporting.

Skills and capabilities

  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable workflows, accounting fundamentals, and month-end close activities.
  • Good grasp of VAT regulations, including tax coding and input VAT recoverability.
  • Ability to carry out detailed reconciliations across core banking systems, ERP platforms, and credit card accounts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with solid systems knowledge.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to perform well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with multiple stakeholders.
