  • Work with accuracy and care when handling financial data, following accounting policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support the timely preparation of management accounts and contribute to the reliable production of financial information.
  • Liaise with department leaders and other business teams to resolve queries and keep financial processes moving smoothly.
  • Manage deadlines effectively, prioritise competing tasks, and help ensure reporting requirements for the parent company and owners are met on time.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows, and support continuous improvement across the finance function.

Requirements

  • Current AAT study and prior experience in a finance or accounts department are preferred for this role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including balance sheet reconciliations, management accounts preparation, and financial analysis.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to spot and correct discrepancies accurately.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for dealing with stakeholders and explaining financial information.
  • Strong analytical thinking, including the ability to identify trends, interpret data, and support decisions.
  • Problem-solving ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and suggest practical improvements.
  • Experience using accounting systems such as SAP and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Willingness to undergo Enhanced Security Clearance, including checks covering employment history, family background, and financial records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute positively to a high-performing team.

Benefits

  • Bonus earning potential.
  • 25 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Pension plan with 4% employee contribution and 11% employer contribution, rising to 6% employee and 15% employer contribution.
  • Hybrid working option with 2 days from home each week if preferred.
  • Car scheme available after successful completion of probation.
