Role overview
This is a permanent full-time opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant based at the Smethwick Head Office in West Midlands. The role is set at 37.5 hours per week, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30. The salary is approximately £29,500.

What the role involves
The International Finance Manager is seeking a motivated Assistant Management Accountant to support the finance team with accounting, analysis, and administration relating to DPD UK International services. The position works closely with the International Operations Director, inter-company contacts across Geopost, and colleagues within Finance.
Key duties
- Prepare management information for International operations, including weekly and monthly accounts.
- Work with the International Operations Administration team so that costs are captured accurately and on time.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations in line with company policy.
- Carry out monthly reconciliations for import duty and VAT control accounts.
- Support the upkeep of the International cost structure within the management information systems.
- Help produce weekly performance reports for International Operations managers to support decision-making.
- Assist with the creation and review of presentation materials requested by International Finance Managers.
- Reconcile intercompany balances with group partners.
- Take on other reasonable duties as required.
Candidate profile
The successful applicant should have graduated with at least a 2:1 classification in any degree subject. A willingness to study for either ACCA or CIMA is essential; ACA is not available for this role.
Skills and attributes
To succeed in this position, you will need to present financial information clearly, manage competing priorities, and work calmly to deadlines. You should be comfortable building relationships across teams, solving problems proactively, and communicating effectively. Strong computer skills are also important, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
