About the Organization
Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District (HBMWD) is hiring an Assistant Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor to support its operations in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. The district supplies wholesale drinking water to 7 municipal customers and serves about 94,000 people across Humboldt County. Its focus is dependable and safe water delivery for the communities it serves.
Role Summary
This position works under general supervision and provides direct support to the Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor. In the supervisor’s absence, the selected candidate will take on full supervisory duties. The role is intended for someone who can grow into the Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor position over time.
Key Duties
The role involves leading staff in the construction, repair, calibration, and upkeep of district facilities and systems, including pumping, water treatment, distribution, storage, hydroelectric, communications, electrical, and electronic equipment. The assistant supervisor will also help coordinate the District Safety Program and the Regulatory Safety Compliance Program.
Qualifications and Certifications
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED along with 3–5 years of steadily increasing construction and maintenance experience. Background in water treatment and distribution systems is preferred. Required credentials include a Grade IV Water Treatment Operator’s Certificate, a Grade IV Water Distribution Certificate, NCCCO Crane Operator Certification, a Class A CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement, and an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificate, which may be obtained within the first year.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual pay range for this role is $105,808 to $128,615. If approved by the Board, the position will also receive a 4.4% COLA adjustment on July 1, 2026, followed by four separate 3% salary increases every six months from July 1, 2026 through January 1, 2028.
