Assistant in Nursing (AIN)

Role Overview

Alzheimer’s Queensland is hiring experienced and caring Assistants in Nursing to support residential aged care teams at two locations: Windsor Aged Care Services and Rosalie Nursing Care Centre in Brisbane, Queensland. This is a full-time onsite role with 2 available casual openings — one at Windsor and one at Rosalie — covering morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

You will work under the direction of Registered Nurses to help residents with everyday living tasks and deliver safe, respectful, and person-centred support that enhances wellbeing and quality of life.

The pay rate is $43.24 per hour, plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and everyday living activities.
• Help with mobility, hygiene, meals, and comfort needs.
• Encourage independence, dignity, and purposeful engagement.
• Carry out care plans and follow clinical instructions from nursing staff.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and resident-centred care setting.

About You

The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and focused on resident wellbeing. You should be confident working in residential aged care and able to contribute to a collaborative care environment.

Availability and Application Notes

• Applicants must have valid Australian working rights.
• A Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or an equivalent qualification is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in residential aged care is needed.
• Knowledge of dementia care and person-centred care approaches is important.
• You must be able to work morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are expected.
• You should bring a compassionate, reliable, and resident-first attitude.
• Experience following care plans and organisational procedures is required.
• A current National Police Check is required.
• Applicants must be willing to work across weekdays and weekends.
• Candidates able to commit to a minimum of 3 to 4 shifts per week will be given preference.
• Weekend-only availability will not be accepted.
