Role Overview

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for maintaining and reconciling bank accounts, preparing customer invoices, handling supplier invoices and payments, and keeping financial records and journal entries accurate. The role also supports month-end and year-end close activities, helps ensure compliance with accounting policies and tax rules, and assists with audit-related documentation as part of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep bank accounts and bank statements updated and reconciled
  • Prepare customer invoices and upload them to customer portal systems
  • Carry out data entry, maintain accurate accounting records, and document all financial transactions
  • Create and post journal entries to reflect transactions accurately in the general ledger
  • Process supplier invoices and handle vendor payments
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing for financial statements
  • Follow accounting standards, company procedures, and applicable financial and tax regulations
  • Support internal and external audit requests with proper documentation
  • Collaborate with senior accountants and other finance team members on tasks and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field
  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of Saudi invoicing and tax requirements
  • Understanding of IFRS and local statutory accounting standards
  • Professional certification such as CMA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification in progress or completed is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities
  • High attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, especially during month-end and year-end closing
  • Practical problem-solving ability and sound judgment
  • Integrity and discretion when working with confidential information
  • Proficiency in Excel and finance-related software
  • Good English comprehension and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Additional Information

This position is based in Saudi Arabia and is a full-time, on-site role. The job requires adherence to company safety policies and procedures. Experience with invoice processing and supporting month-end closing is considered an advantage.
