Role Overview
The Asset Protection Lead plays a key role in helping the store reduce shortage, strengthen profitability, and maintain strong operational controls. This hourly position focuses on improving processes, reinforcing compliance with policies and procedures, and supporting a workplace culture built on teamwork, collaboration, trust, and accountability. The role aligns with the company’s asset protection mission by safeguarding profitability and acting as a positive driver of change.
Key Duties
- Show strong ownership, accountability, and initiative while working toward store goals and important performance measures.
- Help prevent shortage by spotting and stopping theft, fraud, and dishonest activity, while staying current on company policies and ensuring clear communication across the store.
- Support internal, external, and organized retail crime investigations in line with case procedures, company standards, and applicable legal requirements. Make sure apprehensions are handled correctly and that incidents are fully recorded and reported.
- Lead training efforts related to store awareness, data security compliance, and asset protection systems, while helping the store follow policies, procedures, and safety rules.
- Share daily priorities and key tasks, while demonstrating behaviors that strengthen team learning.
- Improve team accuracy and understanding of asset protection programs by helping with onboarding, creating teachable moments, and supporting ongoing associate development.
- Protect confidential information, handle sensitive matters carefully, and remain composed, recognizing the importance of business continuity and investigations.
- Adjust quickly to shifting business needs by adapting plans, tactics, and resources as required.
- Build effective working relationships with local law enforcement to support cooperation and successful case outcomes.
- Confirm that store systems are functioning properly and promptly escalate outages, safety risks, or other concerns.

Additional Requirements
This is a flexible, hourly retail role that may require nights, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs. The position also requires regular movement throughout the store, availability to customers, and the physical ability to bend, reach, stretch, lift, carry, and move items weighing at least 40 lbs.
