Where you'll work
Job description
Overview
We are seeking a confident and technology-minded Assessment Officer to join a busy assessment delivery team supporting major Government and Public Sector clients across the UK. This position is part of a fast-moving digital environment where you will help run live online assessments, support candidates, and ensure every session is delivered accurately and professionally.
The role is suited to someone with strong organisation, excellent punctuality, and experience in assessment delivery or a closely related area such as recruitment, interviewing, or structured candidate evaluation. You will be handling multiple systems at once, so solid IT ability and a careful eye for detail are essential.
From the first day, you will receive a two-day training programme followed by practical shadowing with an experienced mentor. Clear guidance, scripts, and scoring tools are built into the assessment platform to help you work consistently and confidently.
What you will do
You will facilitate online assessments, interviews, and role-play exercises, supporting candidates throughout the process and helping to create a fair, positive, and consistent experience. You will also record outcomes accurately, keep sessions on schedule, and provide technical support where needed while working closely with colleagues to deliver smooth end-to-end assessments.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate can assess people against defined criteria and make objective, evidence-based decisions. You should be able to communicate clearly, put people at ease, follow structured processes reliably, and remain calm and professional in a busy, people-centred setting. Confidence with digital platforms and a team-focused approach are also important.
Additional information
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term role. The working model is hybrid, with monthly visits required to one of the following locations: Newport, Wakefield, or Croydon. Working patterns are flexible and depend on assessment schedules.
The role requires previous experience in assessment delivery, such as recruitment, interviewing, or structured candidate assessment. Experience with SOVA or similar platforms would be an advantage, though it is not essential. Full training is provided on SOVA and Microsoft Teams.
Salary and benefits
The salary is £27,781, with a London-weighted rate of £29,798 for Croydon. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave with the option to buy additional days, a health cash plan, 4x death in service life assurance, pension support, 3 days of paid volunteering leave, 5 days of paid carers leave, and a flexible benefits fund that can be taken as cash.
About the employer
The employer is a leading UK provider of re-imagined business support services, powered by next-generation technology. The organisation combines insight, technology, and transformation capabilities to deliver meaningful and lasting outcomes for clients, and it focuses on solving complex problems with innovative solutions and commercial models.
Equal opportunities and adjustments
The organisation values diversity and welcomes applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and identities. It is committed to equal opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or marital status.
If you need adjustments during the recruitment process so you can perform at your best, you are encouraged to mention this when applying. The employer participates in the Disability Confident scheme and will offer an interview to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
Location and working details
Location options for this role are Newport, Wakefield, or Croydon. The role is described as full time and permanent in one section, but also as a 12-month fixed-term position; the 12-month fixed-term arrangement and full-time status are reflected here based on the role details provided.
