Job description

Role overview

We are seeking an Art Director for a Canada-based remote opportunity supporting a partner company that oversees all applications and hiring steps. The role focuses on building distinctive, high-impact creative work for fast-paced clients in restaurant and retail, with an emphasis on branding, campaigns, and digital content.

You will turn marketing strategy into strong visual ideas and finished creative assets across multiple channels. This position combines concept development with hands-on design delivery, and you will own projects from the first idea through final execution. The environment is highly collaborative and feedback-oriented, and success in the role depends on creativity, autonomy, cultural awareness, and the ability to perform well under tight deadlines.

What you'll do

  • Create and execute compelling creative concepts for campaigns, brand systems, social media, and integrated marketing work.
  • Convert marketing direction and audience insights into visual routes, sketches, storyboards, and final polished creative assets.
  • Own projects from concept through delivery while protecting creative quality and consistency across all outputs.
  • Confidently present design thinking and creative recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients, while incorporating feedback effectively.
  • Partner with designers, writers, and strategists to improve ideas and expand creative possibilities.
  • Stay current on cultural trends, advertising norms, and format-specific creative needs across platforms.
  • Take part in brainstorming sessions and help raise the overall standard of the team’s creative output.

What we're looking for

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in advertising, creative agencies, or brand-centered design settings.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates advanced visual design ability and sharp conceptual thinking.
  • Deep working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and similar tools.
  • Comfort using AI tools to support ideation, refinement, and production workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work and deliver consistently in a fast-moving setting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain creative choices clearly.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a distributed, remote-friendly environment.
  • Proven collaboration and brainstorming skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with careful attention to detail and execution quality.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay that reflects experience and creative expertise.
  • Fully remote, distributed work setup with location flexibility.
  • Chance to shape high-visibility campaigns for growing brands.
  • Collaborative, feedback-driven culture that supports experimentation and creative ownership.
  • Exposure to a mix of branding, social, digital, and campaign work.
  • High autonomy with minimal process overhead and a strong focus on output quality.
  • Opportunity to work with international teams in a fast-paced creative consultancy setting.
  • Ongoing learning through hands-on experience with modern advertising and AI-assisted creative workflows.

Additional information

This role is posted on behalf of a partner company, which handles applications and next steps directly. The hiring process is supported by AI-based matching and screening to identify candidates who best fit the role’s core requirements, but final decisions are made by humans.

By applying, candidates acknowledge that their personal data may be processed for evaluation and shared with the hiring employer under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR where relevant. Applicants may exercise rights such as access, correction, deletion, and objection. AI tools may also be used to assist with parts of the recruitment workflow, including resume review and response analysis, though human judgment remains central to the final decision.
