Role overview
The Auckland team is looking for an energetic and commercially minded Area Sales Manager. This position focuses on developing business through strong merchant relationships while also working with builders, installers, specifiers, and other industry contacts to expand market reach and increase sales.
You will be expected to hit sales goals, protect and grow existing accounts, and actively uncover new opportunities in the field. Much of the role involves being on the road, meeting merchant partners and customers on site, and representing the brand at trade events to build demand and strengthen connections.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with merchants and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with builders, installers, specifiers, and customers to support sales growth.
- Deliver against sales targets while safeguarding existing business.
- Identify and convert new sales opportunities in the market.
- Spend time in the field visiting partners and customers on site.
- Attend trade shows and industry events to build visibility and create demand.
About you
- You are a motivated sales professional with a working understanding of the building industry.
- You can build trust easily and influence people from a variety of backgrounds.
- You bring commercial judgment, including an understanding of pricing, margin, and value-based selling.
- You are comfortable presenting ideas, solving problems, and helping move decisions forward.
- You work in a personable, polished way and follow through reliably.
