Job description

Job Summary

This role is focused on generating insurance business from an assigned banking or channel partnership within a defined area or zone. The incumbent will work to influence the partner so they can in turn recommend the insurance products to their customers. A key part of the job is to provide consistent pre-sales and post-sales support to both the relationship partner and end customers, while working with a dedicated team linked to the account. The role is expected to deliver targets as well as drive steady quarter-on-quarter growth.

Job Context and Key Challenges

The position operates in an open-architecture banking environment and depends heavily on the branch banking model. Success requires strong coordination with multiple stakeholders and alignment with partner priorities. The market can be volatile because the business largely sells unit-linked policies. Another challenge is balancing internal process requirements with the expectations of channel partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate premium and revenue by maintaining regular engagement with channel partners and branch leadership.
  • Identify and map key decision-makers, then keep relevant internal stakeholders informed.
  • Drive organizational reward and recognition initiatives through the partner network.
  • Develop creative branch-level activities to improve customer reach and conversion.
  • Communicate changes in processes, rules, and regulations through training and support material.
  • Ensure smooth handling of sales calls, policy issuance, and complaint resolution without operational delays.
  • Support bank customers with suitable service and product options.
  • Build strong knowledge of both insurance offerings and bank products.
  • Manage relationships across levels to achieve the intended business outcomes.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the assigned territory or relationship network.
  • Improve database penetration through innovative partnership-led methods.
  • Work on activation goals, case productivity, and average ticket size targets.
  • Maintain a balanced product mix across traditional, ULIP, and term business.
  • Help increase business contribution above a competing benchmark by providing inputs on products and sales pitches based on channel understanding.
  • Spot training needs for both internal teams and partner teams.
  • Review business performance regularly and share relevant updates with senior management.
  • Use welcome calls and customer interaction to support acquisition and service quality.
  • Follow up with customers and resolve queries to support timely renewals and persistency.
