Job description
Job Summary
This full-time role supports multiple stages of architectural design, ranging from client-facing presentations through coordination with construction teams. The position is performed with close oversight and is intended for someone with a bachelor’s degree and 2 to 3 years of experience.
Reporting Structure
The role reports to the Team Project Manager and/or Project Architect.
Key Duties
- Contribute to the architectural workflow from schematic design and design development for clients through construction documents and coordination so the work is clearly understood by reviewing authorities and construction crews.
- Handle supporting administrative and organizational tasks as needed.
- Prepare or assist with graphics and presentation materials for meetings, documents, and client deliverables.
- Build 3D Revit models in line with KWA production standards.
- Develop project details that align with the design intent and help maintain overall project quality.
- Work with the Project Manager and team to support quality control requirements.
- Incorporate technical feedback, markups, and redlines from the Project Manager, Architect 1/2, or Architectural Staff 1/2 into revised drawings.
- Apply foundational knowledge of zoning rules, building codes, accessibility requirements, and building components.
- Keep project records organized, including meeting notes, scopes of work, and other communication materials.
- Support construction document preparation and coordination.
- Take on additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take thorough and accurate notes during client meetings.
- Quick learning ability with the capacity to retain information and use it effectively on projects.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving setting with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Awareness of how project schedules and budgets affect delivery.
- Strong visual and graphic communication skills for presenting design ideas.
- Advanced Revit proficiency, including the ability to help others follow company standards.
- Exposure to Enscape and/or Lumion is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Physical Requirements
The role involves extended periods of sitting or standing while using a computer. The employee must also be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
