This apprenticeship is designed for someone who is eager to develop practical automotive capability while working in a professional workshop and building a future in the trade.
Role Overview
In this apprenticeship, you will develop the skills needed to complete industry-recognised training in line with ITO requirements. Working alongside experienced technicians and the Service Manager, you will contribute to efficient, high-quality workshop output while steadily expanding your technical understanding and hands-on ability.
Work and Technical Development
- Learn directly from qualified technicians and other team members by taking part in practical, hands-on work.
- Take on new tasks with enthusiasm and actively look for opportunities to build your knowledge.
- Meet the apprenticeship requirement of at least 75 ITO credits each year.
- Plan and prioritise daily work effectively, and ask for support whenever needed.
- Make sure assigned jobs are finished within the required timeframe and that all applicable costs are recorded accurately on job cards.
Health, Safety and Environmental Standards
- Follow Keith Andrews’ health and safety procedures in every task you perform.
- Watch for hazards in the work area and take sensible precautions to protect yourself and others.
- Notify your Manager immediately if any incident, accident, or near miss occurs.
- Keep the workshop area clean, organised, and safe at all times.
- Be aware of environmental responsibilities and work to reduce any actual or possible environmental impact.
Customer Service Expectations
- Present yourself in a neat, professional manner, including keeping your uniform in good condition.
- Communicate politely, respectfully, and supportively with customers and colleagues.
- Take pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining strong workmanship standards.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a real interest in the automotive industry and a strong desire to learn. You should be dependable, on time, and committed to completing an apprenticeship from start to finish. A positive attitude, good teamwork, and clear communication are important, along with a safety-first mindset and strong attention to detail.
What’s on Offer
- A structured apprenticeship pathway with nationally recognised ITO training.
- Guidance, mentoring, and ongoing development from experienced technicians.
- Opportunities to grow your career within the Keith Andrews group.
- A professional workshop environment supported by a leading New Zealand brand.
