Role overview
This position sits within the Exchange Support function, which keeps the company’s global cryptocurrency trading operations running around the clock. The team delivers L2/L3 support to business users and owns production support for major business areas, including the exchange platform, risk systems, back-office tools, market data, and other non-trading services. The organisation is looking to strengthen this technology-driven support group with additional team members.
Key responsibilities
- Offer technical assistance to sales teams, business users, institutional clients, and retail users, with emphasis on application support, API troubleshooting, and network connectivity.
- Investigate production incidents, take end-to-end responsibility for live issues, coordinate with technical and business stakeholders, and drive timely escalation and resolution.
- Own release-related activities, support audit checks, carry out business continuity testing, and help ensure processes align with ITIL standards, SLA commitments, and client expectations.
- Track, respond to, and automate application and infrastructure alerts to protect system stability and uptime; also maintain the knowledge base and standard operating procedures.
- Look for ways to improve service delivery by streamlining processes, reducing manual work through automation, and raising overall team efficiency.
Required background and skills
- At least 2 years of production support experience, ideally gained in banking or financial services.
- Hands-on experience with UNIX commands for debugging, SQL, and Bash or Python scripting.
- Prior exposure to FIX protocol and API support is essential.
- Strong understanding of Linux and Java-based systems, plus familiarity with cloud technologies and DevOps tools.
- Working knowledge of monitoring, visualization, and scheduling platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Control-M, ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, or similar.
- Strong incident management and troubleshooting ability, with a service-oriented mindset; ITIL certification is an advantage.
- Clear written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and partner teams.
- Experience supporting trading systems such as OMS/EMS, with exposure to equities, derivatives, FX, or cryptocurrency trading.
- Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment, handling multiple priorities, and meeting demanding deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- A self-driven learner who can quickly adapt to new technologies, business areas, and concepts.
- Willingness to work shifts and provide weekend support.
