Role overview
This position is for an experienced Application Support Engineer to help keep mission-critical banking and capital markets systems running smoothly. The role is centered on production support, routine operational work, deployments, maintenance, and application stability across environments used by trading, risk, finance, and operations teams.
Work location
Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, or Gurgaon.

6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
What you will do
- Deliver complete support coverage for production applications and help maintain high availability and reliable service.
- Handle day-to-day BAU tasks such as monitoring systems, investigating issues, and resolving production incidents.
- Coordinate application releases and deployments with development and infrastructure teams.
- Carry out patching, version upgrades, and general maintenance across applications and environments.
- Support Citrix and Windows-based setups, including monitoring, log review, and issue resolution.
- Diagnose and fix problems related to application behaviour, connectivity, and data movement.
- Use SQL databases to investigate data discrepancies and support reporting processes.
- Write and maintain Unix and Shell scripts to improve automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps activities tied to application deployment and release management.
- Work with Front Office, Risk, Finance, and Operations teams to address support needs and change requests.
- Manage incidents effectively, perform root cause analysis, and document fixes and recurring issues.
- Maintain logs, dashboards, and alerting tools to identify issues proactively.
Required qualification
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Required experience and skills
- Strong background in application support within banking or financial services.
- Practical knowledge of Citrix and Windows administration, monitoring, and logging.
- Comfort with Unix/Linux and Shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid SQL and database querying skills.
- Experience with deployment coordination, release handling, and patching.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, infrastructure, and data layers.
- Experience supporting production environments and meeting SLA commitments.
- Working knowledge of incident management, problem management, and RCA practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
Preferred knowledge
- Exposure to VBA scripting or Excel-based tools.
- Familiarity with investment banking processes such as trading, risk, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Experience supporting reporting platforms or end-user applications.
