Job description

About the team

The Enterprise Go-To-Market organization supports large organizations in adopting and scaling OpenAI’s AI platform across their businesses, including ChatGPT Enterprise, the developer platform, and APIs.

Across Asia Pacific, the team works with customers in Financial Services, Life Sciences, Retail, Manufacturing, Technology, and other priority sectors to create AI-driven customer experiences, modernize operations, and speed up innovation. As interest grows through pilots, experimentation, and developer-led use cases, the GTM organization converts that early momentum into long-term enterprise deployments.

Sales Development is the entry point for this motion, turning technical interest into executive conversations and helping establish OpenAI’s enterprise relationships.

About the role

OpenAI is looking for an APAC Sales Development Leader to create and lead the enterprise Sales Development function across Asia Pacific. This person will report to the Head of Global Sales Development and will be a key member of the Enterprise GTM leadership team.

The role is centered on expanding pipeline creation and market development across a fast-growing, diverse region. You will shape how OpenAI engages enterprise buyers in APAC, establish regional SDR leadership and teams, and design the operating model that converts product interest, developer engagement, and inbound demand into strong pipeline for the Enterprise and Strategic Accounts teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and grow OpenAI’s APAC Sales Development organization, including hiring plans, team structure, enablement, and performance management.
  • Lead front-line SDR managers and SDR teams across major APAC markets.
  • Own the regional enterprise pipeline strategy and ensure a steady flow of high-quality opportunities across the region.
  • Convert product adoption, pilots, developer activity, and inbound demand into qualified enterprise opportunities.
  • Create localized and industry-specific SDR programs suited to APAC markets and buying patterns.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Field Engineering, Partnerships, and Strategy & Ops to run a coordinated regional GTM effort.
  • Develop scalable playbooks for outbound, inbound, ABM, partner-led, and product-led pipeline generation.
  • Establish a metrics-led operating rhythm focused on pipeline quality, conversion, speed, and long-term revenue impact.
  • Contribute to APAC market expansion planning, including investment priorities and territory design.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to regional sales leadership on capturing and accelerating enterprise demand.

What you bring

  • At least 10 years of experience in enterprise sales, revenue, or GTM leadership.
  • Deep experience leading SDR or pipeline generation teams across APAC.
  • Track record of managing distributed, multicultural teams across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Experience building or scaling enterprise demand generation systems in high-growth technology or platform companies.
  • Comfort with product-led and usage-based GTM motions such as PQLs, pilots, free-to-paid conversion, and expansion.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise selling across APAC’s varied markets.
  • Highly analytical approach with solid forecasting, pipeline reporting, and operational discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively in matrixed environments spanning Sales, Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Operations.
  • Proven talent-building skills, including coaching leaders and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to engage enterprise customers and partners across the region.
