Role overview
The hiring company is a Europe-based financial services organization known for its people-centric environment. They are looking for an experienced HR/payroll professional to oversee payroll operations across the APAC region. The position reports to the APAC Head of HR and is responsible for ensuring payroll compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements, as well as handling year-end reporting in line with internal procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Run monthly payroll for APAC locations in a timely manner while meeting statutory obligations.
- Work closely with third-party payroll providers to resolve issues quickly and support ongoing process enhancement.
- Manage payroll-impacting employee changes such as onboarding, exits, salary revisions, and related updates.
- Prepare, submit, and track all required statutory payroll reports and payments.
- Act as the regional point of expertise for payroll-related queries and operational matters.
- Monitor changes in employment and payroll legislation and keep payroll practices aligned across all locations.
Eligibility and experience
Applicants should hold a degree and bring 8 to 10 years of relevant payroll experience, with solid working knowledge of labour regulations and payroll legislation across APAC markets. Strong numerical ability, analytical thinking, and communication skills are essential. The role also calls for someone who has helped improve processes and lead change. Good organization, the ability to juggle several priorities at once, and careful attention to detail are important. The ideal candidate should be proactive, adaptable, curious, and eager to keep learning.
