Role Overview

The Geopolitical Advisory group in Austin provides tailored geopolitical analysis to help corporate clients understand risks and opportunities in a fast-moving international environment. The team connects geopolitical insight with business, financial, and economic analysis to shape client strategy, operations, and earnings outlooks.
This analyst role is part of a compact team and offers exposure to senior clients, investment banking coverage groups, firm leadership, and the data analytics function. You will support research, analysis, and presentation development across a wide range of geopolitical, macroeconomic, and policy topics, while working closely with experienced geopolitical leaders and other senior stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Assess, interpret, and combine information for delivery to senior internal and external audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Work with both qualitative and quantitative data spanning geopolitics and macroeconomics.
- Carry out research on companies, industries, regions, and issue-specific topics.
- Help build client-facing presentations and marketing collateral.
- Develop informed viewpoints and be ready to question prevailing assumptions.
- Contribute as a collaborative teammate and support the group culture.
- Engage directly with senior bankers and clients.
- Coordinate across a small hybrid team and collaborate with global, cross-functional colleagues.
What We Are Looking For
- 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, macroeconomic investing or research, or client advisory work focused on geopolitics.
- A bachelor’s degree is required; a postgraduate qualification such as a master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Strong academic track record with proven research and writing ability.
- Confidence, maturity, creativity, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Comfort working in an environment with limited structure.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage several workstreams at once.
- Quantitative analysis and data visualization skills, with strong Excel and PowerPoint ability; experience with tools such as Bloomberg is beneficial.
- Foreign language ability and international exposure are advantageous.
- Interest or expertise in sectors such as healthcare, energy, or technology is a plus.
- Experience in government, academia, think tanks, professional services, or financial services on geopolitics and international policy topics is an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected base pay for this position is approximately USD 120,000 to USD 125,000 per year. Final pay may vary based on relevant experience, length of career, education, certifications, licenses, and other job-related skills. In addition to base compensation, the package may include comprehensive benefits and incentive compensation.
