Job description
Role Overview
DP World is looking for a seasoned Air Freight Operations Manager to take charge of air cargo operations in Singapore. This position focuses on running day-to-day execution smoothly, strengthening team output, and maintaining dependable service for customers.
The role will oversee the Air Operations team, coordinate operational workflows, manage vendor partnerships, and contribute to system and process enhancement work in CargoWise. Experience across major trade lanes, including the USA, Southeast Asia, and China, will be highly valuable.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct daily air freight activities so shipments are processed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with customer expectations.
- Manage the Air Operations team, including task allocation, workload balancing, and productivity oversight.
- Offer operational direction and support for improvements within the CargoWise system.
- Respond to customer questions, escalations, and service-related issues tied to air freight operations.
- Oversee supplier and vendor relationships involved in the cargo handling process.
- Spot opportunities to improve workflow, service standards, efficiency, and cost control.
- Support cost reduction efforts through vendor coordination and better operational design.
- Coach, train, and develop team members to raise capability and service quality.
Candidate Profile
- Substantial background in air freight operations, preferably within freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain settings.
- Previous experience leading or supervising an air operations team.
- Strong familiarity with CargoWise is preferred.
- Exposure to USA, Southeast Asia, and China trade lanes would be an advantage.
- Mandarin speaking and writing ability is preferred, especially for communication with China-based stakeholders, partners, or customers.
