Role overview
The Department of Teacher Education is looking for an adjunct instructor in special education for the Spring 2024 term, starting on January 22, 2024. The assignment is to teach SPE 300: Inclusive Practices for General Education Teachers.
Core responsibilities
This role focuses on teaching inclusive education content to teacher candidates and supporting course-related field experiences as needed.
Required background and expertise
Applicants should hold a graduate degree in special education, inclusive education, or a closely related discipline. Strong knowledge of evidence-based approaches for supporting learners with mild to severe disabilities in general education settings is essential, along with hands-on teaching experience in inclusive classroom environments. Candidates must also be familiar with co-teaching methods and models, current developments in special education and inclusive practice, and the ability to help develop and support inclusive and special education field sites for course requirements.
Schedule and location
The position is on campus in Princeton, New Jersey. Availability is required on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:10 PM to 2:40 PM.
Preferred experience
Preference will be given to candidates who have taught in higher education, worked with teacher candidates at the college level, and bring expertise in inclusive practice within elementary and secondary school settings.
