Job description
Role Overview
This position supports recreation, adventure, and guest activity operations at the property. The role involves helping visitors enjoy a safe, engaging, and memorable experience across areas such as pools, fitness, the kids club, biking, and desert-based experiences. It also includes explaining available activities to guests, encouraging participation, arranging schedules, and helping drive sales of experiences.
The officer is expected to bring practical experience in conservation or wildlife-related environments, including familiarity with desert conditions and animals such as Arabian oryx and desert gazelles. Within the first three months, the role should be able to confidently deliver core experiences such as stargazing, hiking, biking, driving, wildlife feeding, bird watching, and archery. The job also includes supporting events, maintaining facilities, and handling cashier duties when needed.
Key Duties
- Introduce guests to recreation and adventure offerings and encourage participation.
- Plan, schedule, and help deliver activity sessions and special events.
- Watch over activities to help ensure guest safety at all times.
- Respond to emergencies and report incidents involving guests or wildlife.
- Follow safe animal-feeding procedures and handle wildlife responsibly.
- Assist with conservation-oriented and educational guest experiences.
- Keep equipment and recreation areas clean, inspect them regularly, and report damage or issues.
- Provide guest service that reflects the property’s luxury hospitality standards.
- Process payments and use the assigned systems for transactions and related administration.
- Work in line with company policies, maintain professionalism, cooperate with the team, and protect company assets and data accuracy.
- Report to the recreation supervisor and recreation manager as required.
Working Conditions
The role requires outdoor work in desert conditions and involves physically active tasks such as walking, lifting, hiking, driving, and cycling.
Qualifications
A diploma or equivalent background is preferred in recreation, conservation, hospitality, or another outdoor-related setting. Applicants must have CPR and first aid certification, a UAE manual driving license, and experience driving 4x4 vehicles. Prior relevant experience in recreation or outdoor work is required, along with strong English communication and reading ability. Candidates should be comfortable managing several activities at once and working around wildlife in desert environments.
