What the role involves

This position is intended for someone who enjoys working carefully, maintaining accuracy, and keeping vendor payments on track. The specialist will help support monthly close activities, keep accounting operations organized, and contribute to a dependable back-office workflow. The role is fully remote and suited to someone who can work independently while still collaborating well with the wider team.

Key duties

• Handle more than 500 vendor invoices each month with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Compare delivery receipts against invoices and keep track of vendor credits.
• Review and reconcile credit card activity as well as vendor statements every month.
• Assist with weekly and monthly accounting checklists, tasks, and reporting needs.
• Work from established procedures and resolve discrepancies before escalating issues.
• Partner with other teams and offer ideas that improve efficiency and processes.

What the employer is seeking

The ideal candidate has substantial AP or accounting experience in a construction setting, is highly organized, and pays close attention to detail. Strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to stay productive in a remote environment are also important. Experience with Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting tools is expected, along with familiarity with Sage 100 Contractor and Sage Paperless.

Success measures

Success in this role means invoices and vendor credits are processed correctly and on schedule, monthly reconciliations are completed thoroughly, and weekly/monthly checklists are handled consistently without reminders. The company is also looking for someone who becomes a reliable and trusted part of the accounting team.
