Job description
Position Overview
Diligent is expanding its global accounts payable team and is seeking a professional based in Galway to help shape the way AP is run across the business. In this hands-on position, you will report to the Global Manager of Accounts Payable and contribute to building efficient, modern processes within a supportive, collaborative environment. The role suits someone who enjoys solving operational issues, improving workflows, and growing in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day processing of AP invoices, including both PO and non-PO items, with correct coding and approvals.
- Check invoice information and assign prepaid expenses, project or department codes, and subsidiary details accurately.
- Keep AP records complete and compliant with relevant requirements.
- Track vendor aging, look into mismatches, and help bring outstanding issues to resolution.
- Assist with audits by preparing supporting documents and retrieving invoices when needed.
- Validate and process annual 1099 and 1042 reporting.
- Prepare payment runs and arrange ACH, wire, and cheque payments, including management of bank wire templates.
- Reply to vendor and internal questions promptly and professionally.
- Support month-end close activities for the accounting team.
- Work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to keep payments and workflows running smoothly.
- Help develop AP policies, procedures, and best practices as the team continues to grow.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline is an added advantage.
- 1–2 years of accounts payable experience is expected; experience in a global environment is a plus.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, GL coding, and intercompany transactions.
- Helpful exposure to foreign currency and payment processing, though this is not mandatory.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment and adjusting quickly to change.
- Strong multitasking skills and a mindset for process improvement.
- High attention to detail.
- Clear and professional communication with both vendors and internal teams.
