Accounting Specialist

Role Overview

Honeywell is looking for an Accounting Specialist to strengthen controllership and general accounting operations in India. The role focuses on improving financial processes through analytics, automation, governance, and digital tools while supporting compliance and business performance across regions and centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to evaluate current capabilities, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend analytics and automation solutions aligned with business strategy.
• Support digital transformation initiatives across controllership operations and help create synergies through modernized processes.
• Lead operational and business projects aimed at improving efficiency and overall effectiveness.
• Deliver analytics initiatives that strengthen controls and create business value.
• Help transform controllership processes across regions and centers, with ownership of RPA bot monitoring, enhancements, and related project delivery.
• Translate business needs into analytical and technical requirements, then contribute to the design and rollout of advanced analytics and governance solutions.
• Analyze data from enterprise data warehouse sources and develop information products that make data easier for users to access and understand.
• Create, develop, and deploy user-friendly information products and visualizations that improve data accessibility for internal customers.
• Build and maintain data models that work effectively with tools such as Power BI and support BI reporting.
• Apply strong conceptual thinking and process excellence within controllership functions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable GAAP standards and Honeywell accounting policies and procedures.
• Reduce exceptions by identifying root causes and implementing corrective solutions.
• Improve transparency around non-compliance to support better decisions and stronger compliance outcomes.
• Review and refine key performance indicators and track performance against defined measures.
• Partner closely with controllership, operations, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
• Hands-on experience across controllership finance functions is expected.
• Strong understanding of general accounting concepts, processes, and best practices is needed.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in automation, data visualization, data analysis, or related technical work.
• Experience designing user-centered visualizations and infographics that simplify complex information.
• Project management and coordination experience is important.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Skills and Knowledge

• Advanced SQL and other scripting/querying language proficiency.
• Experience working with data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake.
• Working knowledge of Agile development practices.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Interest in using data to create measurable business impact.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Business acumen with a data-mining mindset.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple levels in a matrixed organization.
• Critical thinking with a solid understanding of business processes, technology, systems, and tools.
