Role Overview
The accountant will handle accurate maintenance of accounting records, support the preparation of complete accounts, manage month-end closing activities, post journals, and oversee routine finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out core accounting tasks such as posting general ledger journals and preparing month-end schedules.
- Compile monthly financial statements in line with IFRS, tax rules, and other statutory or regulatory needs.
- Handle vendor payments and employee reimbursement processing.
- Raise invoices and follow up with customers regarding outstanding payments.
- Perform reconciliations for trade, bank, and revenue accounts, and resolve unmatched items.
- Prepare GST filings together with supporting reconciliations.
- Support statutory audits, tax compliance work, and other regulatory obligations.
- Contribute to the enhancement of finance processes and internal controls, and help resolve accounting issues as they arise.
- Take on additional projects and duties when assigned.
Requirements
- A degree in Finance or Accounting, along with 1 to 3 years of experience in auditing or accounting; Big 4 experience and CA/CPA qualification are preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, plus practical exposure to accounting systems.
- Professional communication skills in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
- High level of accuracy, with careful attention to detail and completeness.
- Ability to work to deadlines and perform well under pressure.
- Self-driven attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
- Good interpersonal ability and an effective team mindset.
