Job description

About the company

Palo Alto Networks is focused on protecting the digital lives of its customers by building innovative cybersecurity solutions. The organization emphasizes bold thinking, real-world problem solving, and a workplace where every voice matters. It values collaboration, execution, integrity, inclusion, and disruption, and uses AI to increase the impact of its teams.

The company’s working model is primarily office-based. Most teams work from the office full time, with flexibility provided when business needs require it. This approach is intended to support faster problem solving, stronger working relationships, and highly accurate execution.

Role overview

This position calls for a strategic and well-connected Account Manager to expand the customer base for the Identity and Security portfolio across New Zealand’s public and private sectors. The role is centered on business growth, enterprise sales, and consultative engagement with customers looking to strengthen access security across hybrid and cloud environments.

As the Identity Platform Account Manager, you will act as a subject matter expert in identity security and help organizations advance zero trust and digital transformation goals. You will manage complex sales opportunities, coordinate cross-functional contributors, and position identity security solutions in a way that creates measurable enterprise value. The role requires strong relationship-building, solution selling, and the ability to influence outcomes across a wider ecosystem using AI-enabled sales tools.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the primary identity security resource for major enterprise opportunities and help shape both strategy and deal execution.
  • Create and deliver a territory plan for New Zealand’s public and private sectors to generate new business, expansion, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Coordinate multi-stakeholder sales efforts so that messaging, solution timing, and account planning remain aligned.
  • Use trusted relationships across public sector customers and partners, from executive leaders to operational stakeholders, to understand their business priorities and challenges.
  • Convert technical identity security concepts into clear business outcomes for senior decision-makers and use insights to support CxO-level influence.
  • Bring strong understanding of public sector structures, operating models, financial frameworks, and business processes.
  • Work closely with product, sales engineering, and technical specialists to define and deliver customer strategies that support adoption, modernization, and growth.
  • Build demand across large and complex portfolios by identifying where identity security can solve broader business needs.
  • Assess competitor strengths and weaknesses and use market insight to support sales positioning during the cycle.
  • Partner with channel organizations, global systems integrators, hyperscalers, and alliance partners to broaden reach and improve execution.

Requirements

  • Proven success in identifying, developing, and closing high-value opportunities in both private and public sector environments.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing key accounts in quota-carrying B2B software sales, with a consistent history of achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts such as identity security, PAM, IAM, zero trust, and compliance-led selling.
  • Strong customer-first mindset and a sales approach focused on outcomes and success.
  • Recognized by both internal teams and customers as a strong expert in the field.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to sustain strong output while maintaining disciplined process and administrative standards.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, ideally Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship, and work visa support will not be provided.
